Each peony arrives firm, in tight buds that look like little marbles. Over 24–48 hours in the vase, they slowly unfurl into full, lush blooms. That transformation is part of the magic - the bouquet evolves before your eyes.
Care guide
To enjoy your peonies as long as possible:
- Water - fill the vase halfway with cold water. Peonies drink a lot, so top it up daily.
- Cut - trim stems at an angle, about 2 cm, under running water before placing them in the vase.
- Spot - a cool corner away from direct sunlight and drafts. Keep them away from the fruit bowl (ethylene from ripening fruit speeds up wilting).
- Patience - if buds are still closed, don't worry. They'll fully open within 1–2 days.
Vase life: 5-7 days under optimal conditions.
Seasonality
Peony season is short and precious - about 6 weeks from late April through June. White varieties like Festiva Maxima or Duchesse de Nemours typically bloom in the peak and late part of the season (mid-May into June). Outside of season, white peonies aren't available in the quality you deserve - which is why we offer them only when freshness is guaranteed.
